Petrified Wood
Bath

A singular work of nature, discovered in ancient forests and transformed by hand.

A Remarkable Journey

Each Petrified Wood Bath begins long before it reaches the studio. Designer Sebastian Fenwick travels to remote regions where ancient forests, buried for millions of years, have been transformed into stone through time, pressure and mineralization. What was once living wood is now a rare geological treasure, rich with history and character.

Every piece is selected for its extraordinary patterning, depth of colour and structural integrity. Once in our studio, the petrified wood is carefully shaped by master craftsmen, honouring its natural origins while revealing a new purpose. The result is a bath of exceptional beauty — a meeting of ancient nature and contemporary design.

From Ancient Forests to Sculpture

The journey of a Petrified Wood Bath begins millions of years ago, when ancient forests were gradually transformed into stone through a rare process of mineralization. Before shaping can begin, each petrified wood trunk is carefully assessed for its natural form, structural integrity, mineral composition and grain. The original contours of the trunk guide every stage of the carving process.

Our master craftsmen work with great care, using specialised tools and techniques developed for this extraordinary material. Each bath is individually carved to reveal the organic beauty of the petrified wood, preserving its natural character while refining it into a functional sculpture.

The result is more than a bath — it is a piece of ancient earth, reimagined for modern life.

Material Rarity

Petrified wood of the scale and quality required for a bath is exceptionally rare. Formed over millions of years, the material combines the organic beauty of ancient wood with the strength and permanence of stone.

Each piece displays unique tonal variations, intricate grain patterns and extraordinary depth, shaped by mineral-rich environments over vast spans of time. No two baths are ever the same, ensuring a truly one-of-a-kind creation.

Every completed Petrified Wood Bath represents a remarkable convergence of natural history, artistic vision and masterful craftsmanship.
